The "Power Dress"

Today, because of my outfit choice, I was told that I looked like a singer and that I had my "power dress" on. Both compliments made me feel very confident, and make me wish I could wear the outfit piece for piece tomorrow. But I'm eager to photograph and style my "mom" shorts, so hopefully that is what I will dig out of the rubbish of my closet tomorrow. (I call it rubbish because it has slowly crept its way out of the closet and all over my floor *sigh*).

My apologies that the third picture is such poor quality. My friend's hand was shaking as he snapped the picture, and it came out awkward. But still a decent enough shot.

Mom Shorts

I wrote this on my secondary blog Words From the Sky. Typically I wouldn't post it here, but it mentions a new clothing article that I purchased a few days ago that you will be seeing styled on here relatively soon.

A few days ago I bought a pair of mom shorts (vintage denim shorts with a waistline up to the belly button). I realized one thing about them: It would be very hard to sexually "fool" around with someone while wearing mom shorts. And then I developed a theory as to why the waistline for both male and female entities has lowered so drastically in the past few decades: Young people wanted to have sex, and it was too hard to do so while wearing high cut trousers. So basically, what I believe to be true, is that a bunch of kids were so horny that some clothing designer made bottoms with a low-rise waistline so that teenagers would instinctively purchase them to meet their sexual needs. Could this be related to teen pregnancy? Perhaps.

Boxy and Black

Today's ensemble is one of my utmost favorites! I love over sized anything. Typically, I would need an extra small for a cardigan to fit me properly. But this particular one is an XL. It engulfs me in all entirety, and nothing could be more comfortable. Also, this is the first way I styled my tranny shoes the day I bought them. Now I finally got to wear the outfit!

Oh! What do you think of the jet black hair? Did that just recently.

It's a Ramones type of day.

Here is an old outfit of mine that is super comfy. Walking around in a men's shirt all day? Absolutely! It's quite possible that I fell asleep in that shirt and wore it when I woke up. But this picture is from a while ago now, so I don't recall exactly why I wore it that day. Regardless, it made for a cool look with my now infamous tranny shoes. Oh, and you got to love the Ramones yellow shirt. How many yellow Ramones shirts have you seen floating around? Personally, not many. So I am quite proud of this cheaply made thing just for the sake of its yellow-ness.

The fading of the ballerina.

So this is me playing dress up with my shoes. I have worn this outfit on several occasions, but with the long lived combat boots, not the transvestite shoes. I love this skirt, and I fear that I am going to bring it to its grave shortly. I have reworn the poor thing so many times. I am obsessed with it. So much so, that in my very first blog entry I spoke of my love for tu-tus. Well, here is my tu-tu skirt. Hopefully I'll get more outfit pictures of it before I bid it farewell.

I shouldn't be here today.

Today I am supposed to be at the beach with a bunch of friends, but I'm not. I'm here. Blogging. My friend Anthony graciously said he would give me a wake up call to make sure I was up in time for them to pick me up. Well, along with two other friends, he did just that. But my lazy ass was so knocked out, I never heard the phone ring any of the half dozen times they called. So, instead of having fun at the beach today, here is an outfit I wore two days ago.

Nice shoes

Today in recognition of all the people who do not have the luxury of shoes, I go barefoot along with I assume hundreds of thousands of other people. I've got to be honest though, I have been looking for an excuse to go barefoot again for some time though. Normally I will just do it, and not care about the result it brings in other people, but no one wants to be crazy all the time. So today when people ask, at least they will think I am a decent human being.

Narcissitic Teenagers

I haven't taken any of my own photos lately, so I thought I should feature one of those old photo shoots my best friend and I used to do. In this particular one I was the photographer, and never modeled for her. She wanted a natural, almost hippie look, but still wanted to be sexy. She pulled it off quite well.

"Live fast. Die pretty." Our narcissism.
